Most of our surf lessons take place on Bamburgh beach, in front of Bamburgh Castle, where the waves are perfect for all levels of surf instruction.

Our instructors are all dedicated water people, passionate about the Sea and the amazing Northumberland coastline.

Northumberland is blessed with fantastic surfing opportunities for the adventurous, and more timid. It is home to a relatively small crew of dedicated surfers, seeking out empty cold-water waves. As well as more advanced spots, our coastline has several beaches which are perfect for learning the basics of how to surf. Our coaches are passionate surfers with a wealth of local knowledge. Pupils will learn the basics and catch their first waves in the shadow of ancient castles; surfing in Northumberland is a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

KA Adventure sports is one of the first Surfing England accredited schools in Northumberland. We offer lessons all year round, at all levels. Our instructors can adapt sessions to tailor to your needs.

We offer group bookings for schools, scouts, kids’ parties, hen and stag groups, and more. Let us know what you need, and we will design a session around your requirements.

For Beginners

Adults £35 per lesson

Looking to take up surfing as a hobby? Our beginner lessons last for 2 hours and are the perfect way to kick-start your surfing journey.

Our instructors will help you through the initial stages of surfing whilst igniting your passion for the sport.

For Improvers

Adults £35 per lesson 
Children £30 per lesson

FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE SURFED BEFORE!

This lesson is suitable for people who have already had some experience with the basics of paddling and popping up. Please ask one of our surf instructors if you are unsure whether this lesson is right for you. Improver Surf lessons last for 2 hours.

Private group surf lesson

£40 per session

These sessions are perfect for birthday parties, hen or stag do’s, or a fun day out with family and friends. Your group will be provided with its own instructor(s), meaning that the pace and difficulty of the lesson can be completely tailored to your preferences.

Private surf lesson

£65 per session

These sessions are perfect for individuals who want to move faster through their surfing journey, or for individuals who feel that their learning style is more suited to one-on-one tuition. You will be assigned your own instructor who can give detailed feedback and development tuition specifically designed for you.

School group surf

Adults £35 per lesson 
Children £30 per lesson

Our school group surf sessions are the perfect team building, activity day, or end-of-year reward for kids. Our instructors are all passionate, fun, and safety-conscious; they will encourage the enthusiasm of the children whilst teaching about safety in the sea.

Kids surf club

£30 per session

Kids surf clubs run every week and we have a few different time slots available for different ages and ability levels. In surf club, we aim to progress kids’ independent surfing skills at a rate that suits each individual and teach about safety in the sea, whilst keeping things super fun so they have the best time.

GROUP BOOKINGS

We offer private parties at Beadnell. We can adapt party offerings to suit your needs, with a choice from SUP boards, surfboards, coasteering, inflatable tows behind our boat, or kite sports. Food and drinks on the beach can also be arranged.
